In this episode, Yael floats rumors about Taylor Swift’s new relationship with Avraham Fried, while Chaya Leah solved the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during her latest visit to the holy land. The girls then decide that pride is too controversial of a topic, so they decide to discuss the Temple Mount instead.

We introduce a new segment titled “What kind of Jew is this?”, featuring The Pink Peacock, Scotland’s first ever (presumably) Jewish Anarchist coffee shop, complete with a Yiddish menu and hebrew months on their financial spreadsheets.
From their website:
“The pink peacock operates with a non-hierarchical structure. there are no owners, bosses or managers: the café is governed exclusively by its workers and community members, and decisions are made by consensus.”
It is run by a collective of sorts, with bios kind of like this one :
In the name of radical transparency, all their meeting minutes are public, so if you are tired of Netflix, consider checking out the diversity analysis. The greatest part is that it seems to be run by a guy named Christopher. I won’t add any spoilers about their fate, but let’s just say it wasn’t antisemitism that drove them out of business.
We also take a question from a lovely listener about dating - ladies, if you are from the Northwest and are a little more lax with your mitzvot (don’t necassarily keep shabbat or Kosher) BUT prefer orthodox judaism to reform, reach out to us and we’ll earn a place in heaven.
In NYC or from the comfort of your home via livestream - you have 2 nights (3 if you’re naughty and don’t keep Shabbat) to catch a wonderful play called “The Shylock and The Shakesperians”! It stars (!!) friend of the pod and previous guest (The Anne Frank Musical), Jeremy Kareken, and is getting wonderful reviews! Here’s a photo we stole from Playbill:
Don’t take our word for it, listen to
who wrote about it for The Atlantic (that way you can say you saw this play you read about in The Atlantic, hmmm sophisticated…)If you have questions you can also email us at askajewpod@gmail.com
Oh and here is the great podcast (in Hebrew) about how K-pop attacked Israel.
Finally, super listener Benjy put you all to shame by creating this wonderful list for us. Thanks Benjy!!

Honestly I’m with Chaya Leah - if I moved to Israel I would much rather live in Jerusalem than Tel Aviv. Maybe when I was in my early 20s I would have said Tel Aviv bc I was more progressive and into modern cities at the time but now I’m like it’s basically like any western city and Jerusalem is something so different and unique and ancient. Also when I went on birthright I made really good friends on this trip that I still keep in touch with - but when we went out drinking it was wayyy more fun in Jerusalem than Tel Aviv. Wasn’t really into the club life, the mysterious streets was a much better vibe.
