What a fantastic episode! I think I have a new favorite news/opinion podcast thruple. I can’t wait for the crossover podcast with you guys on Commentary. Quickly, I’d like to add my 2 cents to the extreme benefits of Jewish day schools- my youngest son Adam started at a Jewish school in 2023 as a Reform Jew and even though most of the students are significantly more observant, my son never felt excluded and he learned so much about Judaism. Fast forward to this school year and Adam was placed in one of three tefillah groups - the choices were “progressive”, Sephardic or Orthodox. He was placed in the "progressive” tefillah and he came home from the first day of school outraged that the progressive group had abandoned everything he had learned in the Torah about prayers and gender roles and the next day, he joined the Orthodox tefillah group. As a feminist, I feel bad about that but as a Jew, I couldn’t be more proud. Go Jewish day schools!
Well, after just a few minutes I can burst JPod's bubble to say that we mostly spend 5+ hours a week to listen to Christine and Matt.
But anyway, great to hear JPod, a master at the craft (despite his tic of repeating phrases like “and the Fed, and the this, and the Fed, and the Fed, and the that!”)
Enjoyed the conversation except your trivializing the cruel plight of the Central Park carriage horses. At minimum, if you’re not going to help them, then at least don’t make a joke about horses dropping dead from heat and exhaustion. Not Derech Eretz.
Good pod, the discussion of Cuomo's nipple piercings almost made me forget how terribly you recounted the Kimmel controversy. He didn't say anything that was untrue, I really think it should be reconsidered, especially with the lens of the government pressuring business interest
