In this two-fer, we spend the first 47 minutes chatting about everything from self-care to procastination, plus a little Eurovision talk (you can read my full recap here).
In the second part of the episode, we talk to Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, creators of the October 7 play - yes, this is a off-broadway show made entirely of testimonies of real survivors, portrayed by an amazing cast of actors. It’s playing now in NYC and we highly recommend it, you can get more information here. We talk about why two non-Jewish Irish people decided to travel to Israel in November 2023 (for the first time ever!) to tell these stories, how they prepared to stage it, the reactions, and of course - what the hell is wrong with Ireland? Here is the trailer for the play, we hope you will check it out!
Also, in case you missed it, a new

Save the date! Chaya Leah is coming to New York, and we will have a few fun events planned for listeners.
Thursday, June 6 Chaya Leah will attend the October 7 play, so get your tickets and join her (but don’t assasinate her or anything like that)
Friday, June 7 (during the day) - tour of Crown Heights - stay tuned!
Sunday, June 9 listener happy hour - stay tuned!
Wonderful interview with the playwrights/journalists! My wife’s father’s family immigrated from Donegal (about 130 years ago, but they are still in touch with cousins). I applaud their dedication to trying to get at the truth. So much of art is hijackered in service of the received “truth”. I hope I see the play someday. I can’t make it in two weeks though. Wishing everyone to “break a leg” as they say!
I'll be attending "October 7th" on June 6th. Hope to see plenty of people there!
