I haven’t checked in with her since the cops broke up the Columbia encampment, but I had to push back when one of my friends mentioned the “university protests against genocide.” 🤦🏻♀️ On the other hand, a woman at my gym was railing against the campus idiots last week, and I’ve never heard anyone talk politics there in the 3 years I’ve been a member. So to answer your question…. Maybe? Sometimes?
Totally unrelated, but as I was listening, I got a LinkedIn notification about an opening at CSU Long Beach for an Equity and Compliance Director. 😬
I really appreciated the callout to Hamid Dabashi, since Iranian activists have been calling out the Islamic Republic's cultural exports for decades. Nobody buys what they're selling in Iranian universities because Iranian students have been inoculated against leftist revolutionary thought after experiencing firsthand what living in an "anti-imperialist" "resistance" state is like, but Columbia and Princeton* hire these profs to spew their nonsense at American kids who truly do not know better.
I'm very happy to have you guys to listen to, and glad that sensible people are having these conversations. Thank you Yael, Chaya Leah, and Ben!
*Hossein Mousavian, who works at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, was Iran's ambassador to Germany in the 90s, and very credibly linked to assassinations of Iranian dissidents in Europe during that time.
Died laughing. And I would totally attend gay private school. What a babe Ben is! Can't wait for his book. In the midst of the utter madness on college campuses, you two still make me laugh so much.
Crap, I'm stalking here. I'm working and listening. It sounds like Ben IS on the UWS, and yes, there's so much wig business here. I have 3 haredi shuls in a 4 block radius from me, plus a yeshiva, and ALLLL the women wear wigs. And there's 2 uws Chabads, plus Chabad in Harlem - there's the Chabad also near CCNY. And a lot of the women who go to these Chabads wear wigs. So, you know.
I just read that CSU San Francisco negotiated with the encampment students - they livestreamed the negotiations with the school's president. The president was like, "it breaks my heart you have to cover your faces.
I don't know what she's thinking as now the students know if they want something, protesting won't do it , but setting up an encamplent will.
I support Jews and gays uniting
I just can't keep it straight in my head which is which. It's like Sunni vs... the other one. 🤷♂️

ChayaLeah should apply for that opening. And then we should film a reality show of it.
I’m going to apply. Let’s see what happens.

I just wanted to add, in regards to the protests. No one is talking about what is happening in Gaza anymore. They are taking about the protests.
“Zionist bigots” posters are a clear title 6 violation.
