Thoughts on why people stay in toxic relationships, as discussed at the beginning of the podcast. I think with a lot of people, there is an element of learned helplessness.
People who grew up in environments where they learned that they could never expect another person to be able to meet their needs or treat them with respect may not even see the relationships they’re in as toxic, because it’s all they’ve ever known.
I also think many people are more afraid of being alone than being with someone that clearly isn’t compatible with them, especially if they haven’t spent much of their adult life being single. Some people don’t know how to be single. Many women, especially if they’ve been homemakers, worry that they wouldn’t be able to find a job or support themselves after years of being out of the work force. People may also be in communities where they’d be seen as wrong or a failure if they got divorced. This is even worse when there are kids in the picture - many couples in toxic relationships insist on staying together for the sake of the children because they don’t want to put the kids through a divorce.
I don’t blame people for being trapped in bad relationships. It’s a tough situation and I wish the best for them.
Another thought - dating can be difficult for divorced people, especially if they have children. Some people might look at their bad relationships and worry that this might be their only shot at love, so they’re better off staying than risking loneliness or further heartbreak.
Where were there waves in Tel Aviv? I was there off and on for a few weeks and I never saw any waves pretty much at all, little tiny ones definitely not surfable lol
Yael, what’s the name of that market you like that you’ve mentioned a few times? Is this it? Also, what is the food in those wraps standing up at the bottom of that picture? It looks unreal.
That article about the divorced couple was intense - it sounds like the wife had some kind of personality disorder. I really felt for the kids though.
Chaya-Leah, for skincare info there is a great book I would recommend: Skincare by Caroline Hirons. It has all the info on routines, what ingredients do etc. For actual makeup application check out Lisa Eldridge on YT - her no makeup makeup tutorial is a game changer👌.
I was HYPED when Chaya Leah started complaining about swimsuits, and she didn't even get to my biggest pet peeve--when did women decide to turn their triangle bikini tops upside down/sideways??? Are the swimsuits being made to be worn so that there's a ton of ruching on the top and almost no boob coverage now? I am so confused.
Thanks for the photos. I really haven’t seen current day-to-day photos of Israel until these

Thank you!!
Carmel market in Tel Aviv! I think that’s some kind of bourekas - fried dough with cheese or potato filling…
Love the photos - the food looks amazing!

Totally!! What the hell???
What is the deal that Biden nor Harris (after she’s the presumptive nominee) refused to meet with Netanyahu?
Great photos!
