I would like to enter your tent, despite being a secular, pacifist lapsed Jew who has never attended a protest. 'Blood is thicker than water', as my late Jewish mother would say. I cannot give up on Israel.

yes to this. Our tent is huge and loving and crazy and holds space for a lot of argument but if you’re out here caping for the lives of our enemies before the children of your own people you can stand outside in the rain, please and thank you. Let them break off and call themselves ‘social Judaism’ or some nonsense and they will hold the same status as Jews for Jesus or ‘Messianic Jews: not Jews. Apikorsim.
