I assumed that Jonah Platt was just a Hollywood person so it was a pleasant surprise to hear someone who sounded thoughtful and very reasonable. I definitely agree with him that something that the Jewish community can do right now to be more united is to get to know each better. If a Reform synagogue hosted some Chabad members for a talk and a Q & A and then vice versa and every combination in between, I think we’d benefit tremendously. As a Reform Jew, I assume every Orthodox Jew thinks I’m a crappy Jew which may or may not be true but instead of assuming what others in our community think, let’s talk and get to know each other more. Let’s do what we can to improve the unity and love within the Jewish community.
