You’re comments about who is Jewish were interesting. My great-grandmother was Jewish, so my grandfather was Jewish - which importantly means he, my father and his siblings would all have been targets of the Nazis (they were all alive during WWii).
So while we follow no Jewish cultural activities (besides all the males being circumcised, encouraging argument, debate and the questioning of authority), not going to Temple, etc. we DO regard ourselves as Jewish. Or of Jewish dissent. We believe in the rights of Jews to claim their place in their homeland.
I understand that this may not mean too much to you who live in communities surrounded by Jewish people, friends and family. But we live in South Africa which (as you may be aware) has become increasingly unfriendly towards the Jewish people and Israel.
Anyway, just a thought that you might spare a thought for your supporters here (even those of you Jews not in Israel).
The commentary about not being half Jewish didn't take people like me into consideration. I do consider myself to be half Jewish. Feeling worthy enough to claim my Jewishness is another thing. As an Adoptee, my heritage and family history were not shared with me. I was entirely unaware that I was Ashkenazi until doing a DNA test several years ago. It was such a gift to have this information and a wonderful surprise to learn I am literally 50% Ashkenazi Jewish. Since then, I've been trying to find ways to learn about and connect with my with roots. It's hard to truly feel a part of the tribe when I wasn't raised in the Jewish community nor exposed to Jewish culture/customs. Someone recently asked me if I was Jewish and I was ecstatic. Nobody's ever asked me that before, and it was the most Jewish moment I've ever experienced. If someone could just give me official permission to claim my Jewishness, that would be great.
Love these solo to solo episodes. Here’s a guest suggestion because you were talking about working out: Jordan Syatt. He is very big in the lifting world, is a well known trainer, spent quite a bit of time in Israel, does Hebrew word of the day on his fitness podcast, has had Israeli soldiers on his fitness podcast to talk about Israel, has a big personality and he curses like sailor, has a big Israeli flag hanging in the background of his fitness reels, he seems like a really nice guy, and he is Jewish. It might be a fun episode!
I live in Johannesburg (for my sins - our current government has spent their 30 years in power underfunding it’s maintenance and sewing a pattern of corrupt patronage networks into its fabric) and i live in a suburb which is steadily being settled by the Muslim community, who intelligently seem to strategise which suburbs (and hence schools) they move into and build mosques in. There is a lot of intolerance on community WhatsApp groups from them.

First of all, I am also team "Don't use fabric softener".
Second, I bet you could get on Noam's if you work out a skit that includes:
"Can't we just settle whether or not Bridgette Macron is a man with a genetic test?"
"Trans-women *are* biological women."
"But we're trying to figure out if she's a man, not a trans-woman."
😂😂😂😂😂
You should have someone on to talk about meditation… ever hear of Sam Harris??? 😂

Anyway. Fun show, keep it up.
