I wish you pushed him a little harder on the Hamasnik rallies because they are an infringement on other people. It is like saying if a bunch of Andrew Tates were demonstrating and shouting awful things, and a woman needed to walk by the rally, they pose no harm to her. They already set fear in her. They would probably gesture and yell in her face and say things directly to her if she walked through. They may not touch her, but it is affecting her. There is a reason police officers keep anti-protestors away from the protestors. It is a safety issue. The parameters should be that there is a COMPLETELY peaceful protest, with zero destruction of property and zero direct intimidation so that ANYONE can safely pass. I know, where’s the fun in that?!

Re: the Israeli water polo player story. I'm not a lawyer by any means but yelling at a random person going about their business does sound like harassment and potentially assault to me. I would also argue it's similar to creating a hostile work environment or the equivalent in academia.

Long time “lurker,” this episode made me a subscriber. ChayaLeah’s question about the role of personal responsibility for our speech within the context of living in a society that values free speech was fantastic. I would love to hear more about this topic, be it a podcast or workshop, anything! Thanks for consistently providing thought-provoking content.
