Did you know that your dog doesn’t have to keep Kosher, except on Passover?
The Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk of Jewish podcasting are back this week, talking about the latest tragedy to befall the Jewish people, prosthetic noses. We learn that this is the Jewish month of self reflection , debate whether israel should have a Sunday, and answer listener questions about autopay on Shabbat. For your Qs, our email is askajewpod@gmail.com.
Next stop - the Tel Aviv light rail! We discuss public transportation and the conflicts between orthodox men and scantitly clad female passengers. Why can’t we all just get along, the heavily clothed and the half-naked?
Book club! Pick up a copy of Walter Russell Mead’s “Arc of a Covenant” about the history of Israeli-American relationships and look smart while reading it on the train. We hope to have him on in the coming months and will take your questions!

BONUS! We spoke a bit in this episode about dating and love in 2023, and it just so happens that our girl crush Esther Perel was on a podcast last week talking about artificial intimacy. It’s a great quick episode, and you can listen to it here.

When I was eleven or twelve a friend of mine and I paid a visit to the little video store in the shopping center that was walking distance from our houses. We snuck into the small adults only section and had a look around. The only thing I remember seeing is a woman with breasts roughly the size of basketballs. After a minute the proprietor got suspicious and came and yelled at us and told us to leave. I’m pretty sure this is why I’m gay.
About wearing the wrong thing and standing out, I had an experience that was the mirror image of ChayaLeah’s Diwali debacle. When I was living in Jerusalem, my friend suggested one Friday evening that we go to shul in Mea Shearim. The davening was very nice and the people were fine, but I made the mistake of wearing a dark blue shirt with khaki pants, and it was a little awkward. The children were staring at me like I was from another planet.
I just want to show my appreciation to Chaya Leah for hitting all the important landmarks for the Gen X Jewish girl Brooklyn youth. Last week it was the Loehmann's fitting room and this week it's Shang Chai.
